Fear… it is all around us. It is what causes us to sabotage our aspirations for greatness, often wrapped in that fear of failure or fear of success. Recently, I openly posted my own battle with fear. I am convinced the antithesis to fear is LOVE. Ironically, it is fear that keeps us from experiencing what it is what we truly love – whether that is in a relationship, career or personal aspirations. It’s a tricky little fellow. Think about it, how many people settle in life because of fear of the unknown. True courage requires one to look fear in the face, and rise above it. It has been said the only thing that get’s smaller as we approach it is fear.
Today, I’d like to share a song that I’ve always loved and probably hadn’t taken the time to really listen to the lyrics to before. Listen/read carefully the description of fear and I’d challenge you to consider how fear has played a role in your life… and knowing what you now know, what are you going to do about it.
Fear cannot live in the presence of LOVE.
Fearless,
Nicole

Morning smiles
Like the face
Of a newborn child
Innocent, unknowing.
Winter’s end
Promises
Of a long lost friend.
Speaks to me of comfort
But I fear
I have nothing to give.
I have so much
To lose here in this lonely place.
Tangled up in your embrace
There’s there’s nothing I’d like better than
To fall.
But I fear
I have nothing to give.
Wind in time
Rapes the flower
Trembling on the vine
And nothing yields to shelter
From above.
They say temptation will destroy our love.
The never ending hunger
But I fear
I have nothing to give
I have so much
To lose here in this lonely place
Tangled up in our embrace
There’s nothing I’d like better than
To fall
But I fear
I have nothing to give.
I have so much to lose.
I have nothing to give.
We have so much to lose
