I had an older man do a similar thing to me once. Looking back, I don’t think it was even intentional or that he did it to hurt me, it was just a bit of a game for him, maybe a chance for him to stroke his ego even though he knew he had a beautiful fiance waiting for him. And looking deeper into myself, what I felt didn’t go much deeper than a crush–it hurt like crazy at the time, but it did teach me a lot about myself and the qualities to look for in a potential partner (and very few are qualities that he possesses …)
